To top it off, Chopra specifically picked the sequel as a film that refused to follow the current 45 rule. He said: "We're still looking at the chance [base]. There are some films that are truly made for a theatrical experience.
You are a great contender. You need to see this movie in theaters and it's going to stay in theaters longer."
How long it stays remains to be seen. A 45-day window would mean the film would run Tuesday through July 12, 2022. If Cruise has his way and the film gets a 90-day window, viewers will have to wait until Friday, August 25 to see the film. Thirty-six. After an Early Access presentation on May 24th, Top Gun: Maverick will be available in most US theaters with a May 27th release date, and many locations have already been announced.
Top Gun: Maverick isn't available for streaming online, and the reigning image hasn't announced any official release details yet.
However, given that it's a mainstream film, we can expect Top Gun: The Maverick to finally make its streaming debut on Paramount Plus rather than Netflix or HBO Max.
